EE Roadshow v2.0, Submissions Open

Hop Studios is happy to be organizing again the second ExpressionEngine Roadshow, in Seattle, Oct. 2. We’ve just opened the submission form, and because we are GO-GO GETTERS, we have set the deadline for speaker submissions to be June 30.

The 15 Largest ExpressionEngine sites May 2009

There’s hasn’t been any single list of large, successful ExpressionEngine-powered websites. Well, that’s all about to change:  Here is the definitive list of the 10 largest ExpressionEngine websites.

Update May 20: After adding A List Apart, Kukla’s Korner and Gov.ca.gov, I decided to expand the list to the top 15.  The order is slightly different now.

Update May 15: I’ve had a number of good suggestions for big sites, and one has definitely made it into the top ten: Top Gear, the BBC racing show. I’m also tipped to two more “can’t-tell-you” sites about which I’m trying to find out. Stay tuned.

The Reason Project Launches

After many months of planning, thinking and hard work; The Reason Project launched today. It’s a beautiful behemoth of a site.

Justin Treks North

Justin, our programmer who lives in Boulder, CO, has made the trek north again to meet with us in person and reconnect with the rest of the Hop Studios team.  We’re going to be talking about the future and how we’re going to be focusing our development efforts in the next months.

Interviewed by CBC about political parties

Last Thursday and Friday, I was interviewed twice by the CBC—once for English television and radio, and once by French television. They set up a fancy HD camera in our office, and asked me what someone at Hop Studios thought of the three websites of the political parties in B.C., which is about to have an election.
