Built on the pillars of creating a thriving community, sharing ideas, challenging traditional structures, and imbibing passion, XhAle Brew Co. launched in 2020. XhAle is Alberta’s first all-female and queer craft brewing company. XhAle’s mission is to connect and empower through craft brewing.

Hop Studios helped XhAle Brew Co. completely redesign its website. Starting from a Shopify page that did not reflect the brand, Hop Studios helped to create a beautiful site that articulates their passion for beer and for inclusivity.

When XhAle Brew Co. came to Hop Studios in January 2024, they were looking for a total overhaul of their web presence, site, and store. A website that was more reflective of the business had become their main priority, since they didn’t feel their existing site reflected their brand the way that it needed to.

XhAle Brew Co launched in 2020 as Alberta and Canada’s first all-female and queer craft brewing company. This small business is founded and majority-owned by a queer, immigrant woman and is run by a majority all-women and queer team. With a mission to challenge private corporate norms through an approach that is radically compassionate, intentionally equitable, and centred on supporting and nurturing the communities they belong to through brewing award-winning beer, they needed a website that fully represented their passion.

Hop Studios was the perfect team for the job. With a shared dedication to inclusivity and fostering community, these two small businesses came together to create a big impact. From a boring, templated Shopify page, Hop Studios and XhAle collaborated to design a striking homepage that highlights XhAle Brew’s mission, passion, and impact.

In the new design, XhAle’s beers take center stage and showcase the positive impact that comes with the purchase of each delightfully delicious local brew. Partial proceeds of their beers go to various community resources and organizations, and in 2023 11% of their total gross revenue helped support not-for-profit organizations.

Hop Studios worked closely with the XhAle Brew team to implement the final design of their site, which reflects who XhAle is and the good things they’re doing in their community. It was an absolute pleasure to help this small business create a bigger impact and further its positive impact on the world. Cheers to that!
