Hop Studios was lucky enough to work with Erin and Paula to build their new website, which leverages a beautifully designed brand package (created by Rosie Gopaul) and photos (Ben Glassco) across Squarespace’s elegant templates and code, with custom bells and whistles added for a slick, easy-to-use experience.

We’re particularly pleased with the custom scheduling functionality we built to route clients who want to book time directly to the proper Clio Scheduling Software booking pages.

The website also contains a news page keeping you up-to-date on Erin and Paula’s activities within the community, including webinars on topical issues and articles of interest. And we had a total blast using Canva to design the video templates used on PortaLaw’s YouTube channel and other social media pages.

As accessible legal information is one of the three pillars of the PortaLaw vision, it was paramount that their website be accessible to all visitors. Hop Studios did an accessibility audit of the site and from there made fixes to improve the overall usability. In order for the content to be understood by a screen reader, we added ARIA attributes to the radio buttons on their “Contact Us” page, increasing their clarity and usefulness.

All pages were reviewed and reorganized to use sequential headings, which makes them more easily browsable by screen readers. We also added descriptive text in a number of places, including Instagram links and images. While accessibility can be a moving target, the site is now better set up to serve a much broader audience with these crucial improvements in place.
