Reedman Law is a Vancouver-based law firm founded by Cody Reedman. During his upbringing in North Vancouver Cody was greatly influenced by news articles about business fraud and misconduct. After starting Reedman Law, Cody transitioned from general civil litigation to specializing in bankruptcy, insolvency, debtor-creditor law, and select white-collar crime and investment cases.
From its beginnings with a single practitioner, the firm has expanded to include legal support staff, articled students, and summer students who gain exposure to insolvency law and debtor-creditor law. The team has honed its skills in a wide range of practice areas, including court representation, administrative tribunals, mediations, commercial arbitrations, appeals, and boardroom negotiations. Their approach is comprehensive, professional, and tailored to ensure the best possible outcomes for their clients.
Reedman Law places a strong emphasis on technology and legal subscriptions, enabling its team members to work remotely and provide top-notch client services. Having a website that not only looks great but also serves its purpose effectively is paramount. In 2023, Reedman Law identified a need for a digital facelift, and that’s where Hop Studios came in! We embarked on a journey to transform their online presence, making it more welcoming and user-friendly.
A Digital Evolution with Wix
We opted to use Wix, a platform that seamlessly blends style and functionality, for Reedman Law’s new presence. We migrated the site from Squarespace, giving it a fresh, contemporary look, tailoring many of Wix’s pre-built components to the firm’s needs — we utilized the power of CMS pages to empower the client to manage page content easily. And given the importance of the digital brand, we also set up a comprehensive style guide using Wix’s site design tools. Thanks to the inherent efficiency of the Wix platform, configuring a user-friendly contact form took significantly less time than coding a custom form. The new site also features a blog.
Designing for Calm
When dealing with bankruptcy, insolvency, and debtor-creditor issues, the last thing you need is a website that adds to your stress as you try to find support. Cody understood this well. Our design goal was to create a digital space that exudes calmness. Taking inspiration from the serene Pacific Northwest, we chose a soothing color palette of dark blue and cream, marrying modern aesthetics with an inviting vibe.
Our second design mandate was simplicity. The layout is now uncluttered, ensuring visitors can easily find what they need. Navigating through information is a breeze, and the content itself is clear, concise, and reassuring. The overall message: Reedman Law is here to help you navigate the legal maze and relieve the weight of your worries.
With a sleek, user-friendly website that radiates professionalism and approachability, Reedman Law is better equipped than ever to guide you through complex legal matters while extending a friendly hand to those facing challenging legal situations. We can relate; at Hop Studios our goal is also to extend a helping and knowledgeable hand in the technology world.
