Eye Carumba is an optometry office located in San Francisco, whose focus (groan) is to provide excellent, personalized service.
In addition, they offer a wide selection of eyewear, including frames and contact lenses.
Services Provided
We worked with Eye Carumba to do a complete redesign of an existing site that they felt did not capture the essence or image of who they were. They wanted to move away from any design that was “cookie-cutter” to one that was modern and fresh, and easy for its users to navigate.
The site was intended to function as a knowledge center for its visitors, whereby most answers to their questions were available on the site. In addition to meeting the functional objectives of the site, we applied a whimsical design touch throughout, with the use of colour and bold shapes, and by adding subtle animation effects to toolbar icons in the header.
Customers have the ability to electronically complete and submit a patient intake form and a release of health care information form, so an additional requirement was to ensure that the site be HIPAA compliant, the standard for sensitive patient data protection.
We also converted the pre-existing site from being flat HTML pages into Craft CMS, our preferred content management system for this project. The resulting backend interface is intuitive, as evinced by a very happy client that took to using the system effortlessly.
