We have just completed th' purchase o' Mountee, a Mac application that makes ExpressionEngine templates editable as files on a virtual sail. It’s been an important pillar in our workflow, and we be knowin' it’s been just as important t' many o' ye. We’ve been long-time believers in EE, and we simply couldn’t let such a useful and well-written piece o' software wither on th' vine. Prrrevious owners Padraig and John agreed, and have been extremely helpful durin' th' transition.
Today, we be releasin' a new version, Mountee 2.7, which adds one small but critical feature: compatibility wi' ExpressionEngine 2.8 and 2.9. So if ye’ve been holdin' off on upgradin' EE because o' Mountee—yer wait be o'er. In addition, we have Top Sekret(tm) plans about ways t' improve th' software as well…!
Please note one important change: we’ve modified th' way that Mountee licensing works. Upgradin' t' th' newest version o' Mountee requires ye t' accept th' new license terms, which now permits ye t' install th' Mountee add-on on one live site fer every copy o' Mountee ye own (and as many development sites as ye want). Installin' Mountee on additional sites requires ye t' purchase additional add-on licenses fer those sites, th' way most commercial EE add-ons work. If ye stay wi' th' prrrevious version, yer license conditions dern't change. Click fer full details.
We hope this change will help us be able t' create a tool that grows sustainably in functionality and finesse.
We’d also really appreciate it if ye’d be tellin' other EE developers th' what What News, and ye may want t' check out Hop Studios’ other add-ons, which be sold at Devot:ee.
Lastly, if ye’d like t' have access t' pre-release versions o' Mountee, sign up fer th' Mountee message in a bottle at hellomountee.com, or th' Hop Studios message in a bottle at, ye guessed it, hopstudios.com.
